First time at this new location near Costco Marketplace, Tucson. I asked to expedite oil change service in order to accommodate another appointment within the hour. They did everything to get me in and out quickly. Thoroughly inspected vehicle and found several additional recommended services from which we prioritized service and follow-up. I did not feel pressured and felt there was a strong customer care ethic in place. Clean and comfortable waiting room. I even think my car came back to me cleaner than when I left it. Very satisfied with service and would return and recommend to others.
Frequently Asked Questions
Keeping up with a regular oil change schedule is one of the most important things you can do to extend the life of your vehicle’s engine. The engine oil works to:
- Lubricate all of the moving parts in your engine
- Reduce the heat caused by friction
- Absorb by-products from combustion
As your vehicle’s oil gets old and dirty or the oil level gets low, its ability to perform the necessary functions above is greatly diminished. This can mean sticking piston rings, engine overheating, premature engine wear, and more expensive problems.
Avoid having your engine seize up and paying thousands of dollars to replace it by following your vehicle’s recommended oil change schedule. This will protect all of the engine’s components and keep it running in good condition.

When you bring your vehicle to Ramona Tire & Service Centers for an oil change, it is more than just putting in new oil. Our expert technicians are not only ensuring your engine leaves with clean oil running through it, but also inspecting other critical parts of your vehicle. We want to help keep your vehicle running properly and safely.
During an oil change service we:
- Remove your old, dirty oil
- Replace your old oil filter with a new filter
- Top off your vehicle’s other fluids as needed
- Rotate your tires (upon request)
- Check the air pressure in your tires
Schedule your appointment online for an oil change and ensure your vehicle is running safely at its optimum performance.
The engine’s oil filter is essential in keeping the oil cleaner longer. But it does reach a point where it can’t absorb any more dirt or debris. When that happens, your oil will not be filtered as it is circulating throughout your engine.
Changing the oil filter along with your oil ensures that your new, clean oil can work effectively and stay clean longer.
Yes! Switching to a different brand of motor oil is not a problem as long as it meets the engine oil specification and viscosity grade recommended in your vehicle’s owner’s manual. There may be a different brand that can provide better oil performance and protection than you are currently using. You can also easily switch between synthetic and conventional motor oils.
We do recommend speaking with your oil change technician about other options in motor oil that may offer better performance compared to what is currently in your vehicle. Here at Ramona Tire & Service Centers, we use only the highest-quality motor oils, such as Valvoline Premium Conventional, Valvoline Synthetic Blend, and Valvoline Full Synthetic Oil.

Full synthetic oil is a 100% chemically engineered motor oil that is blended with additives. This results in an oil that is more molecularly uniform and can flow through the engine more freely with less friction. Because of its makeup, full synthetic oil has some distinct advantages over other types of oil, including:
- Being more resistant to oil breakdown over time so it can last longer than regular conventional oil
- The ability to absorb more heat caused by friction and tolerate higher temperatures than other types of oil
- Higher performance in protecting your engine from the added strain of hauling heavy loads or towing
- Having fewer impurities, so when the oil starts to break down it is less likely to cause a buildup of sludge
With full synthetic motor oil, you are getting the highest level of performance and engine protection. Since the oil lasts longer, you also won’t have to get an oil change service quite as frequently. Most full synthetic motor oils often last between 7,000 and 10,000 miles.
Protect your engine with the best oil available. Schedule your appointment online now for a full synthetic oil change at Ramona Tire & Service Centers.
When it comes to the labor involved in an oil change for diesel cars or trucks, they don’t really require any extra service or care compared to gasoline vehicles. The difference is in the motor oil used and the frequency of service.
Because diesel engines tend to be dirtier, diesel motor oils contain a higher number of additives to extend the performance of the oil and its viscosity through the engine. Diesel motor oils combat a lot more dirt and debris in bigger diesel engines. So, these types of cars and trucks will usually need more frequent oil and filter changes.
Is it time for an oil change service in your diesel vehicle? Our ASE-certified technicians here at Ramona Tire & Service Centers are experienced in both diesel and gasoline engines. Schedule your appointment online now!
If you are looking for a cheap oil change, you may be inclined to try to change your oil yourself. Changing your own oil can prove to be more inconvenient, risky, and messy than you may realize. In reality, having an oil change service done by trained technicians, like those here at Ramona Tire & Service Centers, will actually save you time, money, and hassle.
On some makes and models of vehicles, convenient access to the oil pan bolt, oil filter, and other necessary areas is not always a given, which can quickly become a headache when trying to change your oil yourself. You also run the risk of overlooking an oil leak, cross-threading the oil filter, using the wrong oil, or overlooking other issues. Proper disposal of the old oil is another factor to consider.
Trust a trained technician with your oil change service and be sure your service is done properly and your vehicle is ready to hit the road safely.

If your oil on your dipstick is very dark, you don’t necessarily have to rush to your closest auto repair service center. Motor oil is meant to darken, as this means it is doing its job as it picks up dirt and debris through the engine. Also, different additives change the oil’s color.
So you can’t accurately determine the need for an oil change just by the color of the oil on the dipstick. If the oil comes out in globs or feels very gritty between your fingers, however, these are usually better indicators that it’s time for an oil change service. The best bet is to follow your recommended oil change schedule based on mileage or time.
If you are ever curious about the color of your oil though, don’t hesitate to swing by your local Ramona Tire & Service Center locations to speak to one of our technicians.
